Our client is undoubtedly one of the global leaders within the formwork and falsework sector, operating internationally providing bespoke solutions to the construction industry.

As a result of continued expansion and in view of consistently successful results, they are now looking to enhance their international team by bringing onboard an Engineering Manager in the UAE.

Job Description:

Salary Circa £45,000 – £55,000 (Depending on Experience) Plus Individual & Company Bonus. Bringing the total package to Circa £70,000 per annum. Housing provided or Housing Allowance up to £18k per annum, International Medical Cover, Company car/car allowance, Pension, Dependents School Fee’s Fully Expensed, x2 Fully Expensed Return Flights per year back to UK.

Notably the package on offer for the successful person is exceptional. As due to tax laws in UAE, it is the equivalent of earning a package of around £90,000 – £100,000k per annum in the UK. This is without taking into account the additional benefits listed above.

In short, the position on offer is for a technical consultant who will provide technical support and knowledge to the sales team on Formwork/Falsework projects which they are bidding on. Working directly with the internal sales team and the company’s client’s to provide support and answers to technical issues when delivering successful projects.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

• Ensuring engineering work undertaken in KSA/Bahrain conforms to all Technical Company Engineering Risk Management Policies. Meeting Procedures as specified by the Chief Engineer of the companies Middle East and Division
• Implementing procedures across KSA and Bahrain maintaining controls. Reviewing engineering work undertaken ensuring it complies with the Divisional Engineering Risk Management Policy.
• Functionally managing engineering team operations in KSA and Bahrain. Including the setting and reviewing, of technical performance objectives and indicators.
• Operational responsibility for those reporting to the Engineering Manager. This will depend upon the Engineering Manager’s specific areas of responsibility. But could include some or all of the following positions: Team Leaders, Project Engineers, Temporary Works Engineers, Temporary Works Designers, CAD Technicians.
• Managing direct reports in the engineering function of KSA and Bahrain, in a manner consistent with International standards and IIP (Investors in People) principles.
• Determine training requirements for technical staff, in conjunction with the HR Manager and local managers. Ensuring they are continually appraised in accordance with the Middle East Engineering and Design Matrix.
• Conducting quarterly Toolbox Talks to technical staff in KSA and Bahrain.

Desirable Attributes / Requirements:

• You will currently hold a career in the formwork/falsework sector. Ideally with several years experience in a technical engineering positions, within the formwork/falsework sector. Or a closely aligned construction related industry such as temporary works or scaffolding.
• Technically strong with the ability to develop innovative engineering solutions.
• Possess the ability to design and detail complex specials, carrying out full beam design, including stiffeners and combined stresses
• Skilled in frame analysis in 2D and 3D, with detailed knowledge of calculating wind loading and the ability to apply loads to non-standard situations.
• Above all, you will be a strong communicator and able to contribute to the raising of technical standards in conjunction with other senior staff.
